Autumn Lake

An Alaska river in full autumn color — the birches gone gold, the willows red, the spruce still green against the riot of the season's finale. Kayley loves autumn in Alaska, and this painting shows why: the light is different, the air is different, and the landscape does something in those few weeks that it does nowhere else. A painting about the beauty of change and the colors of letting go.
